We are big believers in the effectiveness of three dimensional promotions, so this project was a natural for us. Tank design came up with the concept of a two stage mailing for Gartner, where the recipient would first receive a mini bale of hay with the line, "Savings, it must be in here somewhere." on the printed insert. A few days later, the needle would arrive with the headline reading, "Revenue.we'll help you find it." Sounds great, but how do you find 250 mini bales of hay, and 250 giant plastic needles? How do you handle, package and mail such a thing? Needless to say, we learned more about the hay industry than we ever needed to! Did you know that there is grass hay and straw hay and alfalfa hay?..Let's put it this way.if you EVER need hay bales as small as 1 x 1 ½ x 2 ½ inches, we know where to find them! The entire mailing was a huge success and the recipients were left with a lasting impression. and a mess of hay to clean up! Nobody told them that they didn't have to open the package, but some went searching anyway!
